Who we are?
Dedicated to supporting and lifting people in Glasgow and surrounding areas.
Kindness Homeless Street Team Glasgow SCIO is a voluntary charity dedicated to supporting and lifting people in Glasgow and surrounding areas.
Our charity started as a community group in December 2019. We gained charity status from OSCR on the 27th of April 2021. When we started, we were predominately a soup kitchen offering a daily service throughout the pandemic but since then we have grown into much more.
Alongside our extended soup kitchen in George Square 2 evenings per week (Monday and Wednesday from 7pm), we also provide support to encourage people into their own accommodation. We provide recycled furniture, soft furnishings, electrical appliances and assist in turning their empty flats into homes. We deliver furniture 7 days per week and rely on our volunteers to ensure we can offer this service.
We also have a donation centre which is opened 4 days per week at 417-419 London Road G40 1AG (opened Monday, Wednesday Saturday & Sunday 11am –2pm).
We offer food parcels, clothing referrals and support from our centre. We accept clothing, footwear, toiletries and tinned foods at our donation centre to allow us to offer our 4-day service from here.
